The EU has changed their laws (GPSR) for companies outside of the EU to now require a designated "responsible person" for safety and compliance located within the EU, along with other compliance requirements effective Dec 13th.
Physical and digital products will no longer be for sale to anyone located inside the EU from my shop, as I don't sell enough to EU countries to justify the expense and legal hoops of hiring EU personell and certifying compliance.
EU residents will still be able to purchase my books via other "giant" retailers who will certainly be able to be in compliance with the new laws.
I'm sorry for any inconvenience or upset. This change is effective immediately.

I take it you realise that this new legislature also affects Northern Ireland too (not just the EU)?
Northern Ireland is still effectively in the EU due to the Windsor Framework (even though Northern Ireland is a legal part of the United Kingdom).
I am in the same situation as you, as I’m outside the EU but currently sell into the EU and Northern Ireland. Luckily I have just managed to find someone to be my Responsible Person for my business.
Yes, Ireland included. All the lists I found included Ireland on the list of Countries in the EU, who fall under this legislation. Thanks for the thought to inform.
I may reconsider in the future, after vetting some of these companies popping up who are promising Responsible Person Services, and justifying the extra expense involved.
